BISKIT UNDERGROUND

ARTIST NOTE

My work with Biskit Underground exists at the confluence of video art and electronic music. Drawing inspiration from the experimental traditions of cinema and contemporary video art, this project reimagines live music experiences as layered, multi-sensory cinematic narratives. By weaving sound and visuals into a unified art form, I aim to transform each performance into a fully immersive journey.

The process begins with an exploration of archival media—a deep dive into forgotten frames of film, advertisements, and scientific footage. These sources, rich in untapped meaning, become the building blocks of my visual narratives. Through careful curation and recontextualization, I revive these fragments, allowing them to find new resonance within the realm of electronic music. For me, this is a practice of media environmentalism: repurposing existing visuals to craft something novel, challenging the boundaries of time and context.

Generative art forms the backbone of Biskit Underground's visual identity. Using tools like TouchDesigner, I program audio-reactive systems where sound shapes the visual output in real-time. Every bassline, melody, and rhythm triggers an evolving interplay of abstract forms and dynamic light, creating a seamless dialogue between auditory and visual sensations.

In the final phase, I approach the edit as a filmmaker, synthesizing archival elements, generative visuals, and live recordings into abstract cinematic expressions. Each Biskit Underground set becomes a layered narrative—an exploration of energy captured in the moment and meticulously crafted into art designed to resonate equally in immersive club environments and personal, contemplative spaces.

abstract cinematic expressions

At the heart of my work is storytelling. I approach each Biskit Underground set as an evolving narrative, synthesizing archival elements, generative visuals, and live recordings into abstract cinematic expressions.

MEDIA ENVIRONMENTALISM

For me, this is a practice of media environmentalism: repurposing existing visuals to craft something novel, challenging the boundaries of time and context, and creating a dialogue between the past and the technological present.

Generative art

Generative art forms the backbone of Biskit Underground's visual identity. Using tools like TouchDesigner, I program audio-reactive systems where sound shapes the visual output in real-time. Every bassline, melody, and rhythm triggers an evolving interplay of abstract forms and dynamic light, transforming sound into a visual language. This synthesis creates immersive experiences that feel both organic and technological, offering audiences an introspective exploration of how sound and image can transform each other’s meaning.

EDITION 4

In this fourth edition, the main inspiration comes from 2001: A Space Odyssey, where scenes from the film were reworked, recontextualized, and combined with live recordings and audio-reactive forms. Together, these layers create a dynamic and immersive visual experience that evolves with the music.
